Ready, Set, Read! is a curriculum enrichment package that easily integrates into any existing reading program. Includes the Ready, Set, Read! teacher's guide, Is It a Word-Or Not? flip-book, and WordMaker card pack system.

The teacher's guide is the heart of the program. It details 38 sequenced skill-sets, using Is It a Word-Or Not?, WordMaker and original reproducibles as teaching materials. Each describes goal oriented reading activities, games that reinforce objectives and provides clear teaching suggestions. The skill-sets progress in difficulty, from letter recognition to reading subtle letter blends. An informal assessment shows you where to begin with each student. Progress reports help you document skill development. Coauthored by a graphic artist, who has a child with a learning disability, and a special education teacher with 25 years experience.

Is It a Word-Or Not? is a spiral bound flip-book that introduces the basics. Students learn alphabet letters, blended sounds, and simple two-, three-, and four-letter words.

WordMaker reinforces and expands upon Is It a Word-Or Not? It includes five ring-bound card packs that can be arranged on a easel to create hundreds of words. Card packs are thoughtfully designed to include word beginnings, vowel blends, consonant and vowel word endings and common suffixes.
