Product Information

This on-screen keyboard allows the user to enter text into any application. Many special features have been included based on feedback from actual on-screen keyboard users.

Inexpensive with Smart Features

Comptaible with Windows Vista

OnScreen  provides On-Screen keyboard emulation that works with ANY Windowsprogram. The Assistive Technology Version provides a wealth of featuresspecifically designed for use by individuals who can not easily usecommon input devices.

OnScreen is a Windows software program that provides a powerful interface through ANY pointing device by providing on-screen keyboards, Word Prediction / Word Completion, user programmable macros, and complete control over all computer functions.

OnScreen uses a concept found infighter planes, helicopters, tanks, and automobiles. That concept iscalled "Heads Up Display" technology and its principal objective is tokeep the user's focus and concentration centered in one place. OnScreen uses that concept to reduce the visual re-focusing and re-positioning,caused by the heads up and down motion of going from screen to keyboardto screen, and the resulting confusion it causes.

What's New in Onscreen Version 1.78

  • Support for Windows Vista (Workstation/Network Logon and configurable options for private and share users)
  • LetterAssist: Letters on keyboard integrated with WordComplete candidates
  • KeyAssist: Shortcut options to WordComplete candidates for less mouse movement
  • Over 200 US and international keyboards
  • Single switch scanning
  • Step scanning options, Text-to-speech integration
  • Complete customizable approach for panels, rows/columns, and keys
  • Numeric shortcuts to WordComplete
  • Advanced Word Lists Manager

Additional Features:

Word Prediction, Adaptive Word Completion
With the WordComplete / Action panel open, as you begin to type, a frequency sorted list of words is presented to the user. If more letters are typed, the choices reflect the new list of candidates. A single click of the word will complete the word in the document or e-mail being typed into. Undo becomes available, and the word's frequency count is incremented. If a new word is typed, the word is added into the user's Word Lists. Auto-spacing, auto-capitalization, suffixes, and other WordComplete features can greatly increase the typing speed and accuracy of the user!

Over 200 "Heads-Up Display" Infinitely Sizeable Keyboards

ABCD Alphabetical, QWERTY, 3 DVORAK's, and over 200 International (German, Spanish, French, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, etc.) with Edit and Numeric panels.

Minimize Keystrokes, Mouse Clicks and Menu Selections

Store up to 2000 keystrokes/menu selections (or the applications macro scripts) on each button. Up to 15 buttons can be grouped on individual Panels, which auto-open when their assigned application becomes active.

Assignable Functions for Pointing Device Buttons

Assign any of 63 different functions to each button. Popular keys such as Shift, Esc, Enter, Ins, Ctrl, etc, can be assigned at anytime

Pop-Up Calculator with pop-up Tape and Send Function

A standard 4 function calculator with memory, that always stays on top, has its own pop-up Tape and Send function that places the display information right into your current document or field.

OnScreen has over 150 functions on 11 sliding panels in 12 base screen sizes with infinite larger sizes. Any panel grouping can be selected at any time. It remains active as a Button on the active application and runs under Windows 95 / 98 / Me / NT / 2000 / XP using minimal Windows Resources.

Many people ask how OnScreen can be so inexpensive and what are the major differences between it and other on-screen keyboards, so...
  1. OnScreen has WordComplete, which is not the same as word "prediction". WordComplete just attempts to complete the word you are working on, whereas word prediction attempts to 'read ahead'
  2. Some of the other on-screen keyboards have built-in scanning capabilities. OnScreen requires CrossScanner for single switch scanning.
  3. OnScreen allows you to change any and all colors.
  4. OnScreen auto-arranges windows (some of the others do not).
  5. OnScreen talks (some of the others do not).
  6. OnScreen has macro capabilities (some of the others do not).
  7. OnScreen has a large variety of sizes (some of the others do not).
  8. OnScreen lets you edit the WordComplete lists directly (some of the others do not).
  9. OnScreen lets you "create" or add to word lists, from any text source.
  10. OnScreen lets you set almost any language (some of the others do not).
  11. OnScreen lets you "hide" keys, for "early" learners (no other screen reader does this).
  12. OnScreen lets you launch other programs from within it (some of the others do not).
  13. OnScreen, with one click, moves and auto-arranges between top and bottom of screen (the others don't do that).
  14. OnScreen, when LARGE and too big to fit on-screen, auto-scrolls left/right when you pin the cursor against an edge (the others don't do that).
  15. OnScreen works with XP/NT/2000 (some of the others do not).
  16. The other "big" on-screen keyboards run from $300-$1400 (well, you asked about major differences! ;-)
