From what I was reading today regarding SOPA it sounds as if there is currently alot of opposition to SOPA/PIPA bills currently being addressed in the house and senate and apparently the Obama Administration is against these bills the way they are currently written so in my opinion i think the likelyhood of these bills being passed is very slim. Because if the Obama admin is against these bills the way they are currently written then he has the right to veto these bills and that would be the end of them. Whats your opinion on this topic?

Reduce heat to medium. Swirl in the remaining 2 teaspoons oil. Add cabbage and 2 tablespoons water; cook, stirring, until beginning to wilt, 3 to 5 minutes. That has never stopped me from achieving things in life, for example, a First Certificate Diplom through Cambridge University in England.
My name is Hannah. I have been in desperate need of a supportive community. I try to not let my disabilities get me down, but I am 23 and I am tired of my peers excelling while I have to wait additional years because this body has trouble moving at a normal pace. I am getting depressed as my younger friends are moving on to grad school and I am still working on my undergrad, which I have been working on for 6 years. Life is very tiring and I am finally beginning to notice just how much it limits what I get out of life.

I was diagnosed with fibro a year ago, but I have had it from at least seven years old. I have unexplained hyperlaxativity in my joints that my parents tell me I have had since I was two and would wake up screaming because my dislocated a shoulder or slipped a hip. I had a lot of incompetent doctors who did things that made me much worse than I should have been. When I was 10 my doctors started me on vicodin, every 4 hours for the next 7 years. Luckily I did not have withdraw effects when my doc abruptly took me off vico.

I was hurt when I was seven, which led to the development of PTDS, anxiety, and paranoia. I also got genetic PCOS from my mother and that makes weight management impossible.

I have been through therapy, holistic treatments, acupuncture, massage, heat therapy, cold therapy, electro shock, and so forth. One would think I would be a pain specialist, but I still have no idea how to deal with my pain. I know how to escape it, but I cannot figure out how to really live with it.

Hi,

I'm just joining. I'm 58 and live in Easthampton, MA, but am moving to Brooklyn, NYC.

I've had RSD, (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) for 14 years, and use a manual wheelchair for dancing, and a power chair outside. This is a central nervous system disorder of constant, excruciating pain, usually burning or freezing. The limb gets bright red, hugely swollen, and can't tolerate the slightest touch, like clothing. I'm telling all this, because it is often under-diagnosed. For me, it took 2 years. If it's caught within 6 months, the chance of cure is decent. So I want to spare others what happened to me. Sometimes, as with me, there is an injury to a nerve. Usually, it starts from a relatively minor trauma, like casting. Often, the limb becomes useless, even deformed. In legs, ulcers can develop. The disease can jump to additional, even all 4, limbs. Luckily, mine has stayed in my knee. I received some relief from multiple spinal and para-vertebral blocks in 2001 with Dr. Hooshmand in FL., but nothing else really works. He's been retired a while, and I don't know anyone else who does these injections. My pain remains burning. I do very poorly on oral medications, but do use Lidocaine topically, (right on my knee).

I'm a Classical Homeopathic MD, so I am very open to alternative treatments. I once had a response to one homeopathic remedy for months, where I could walk and dance until i closed the clubs down! But that remedy did not work on repetition. Still, that gives me hope that I could get cured through homeopathy. I've really tried a lot of conventional, Eastern, alternative, meditative, etc. ways.

My first partner while I was ill, was great. She is an O.T., who has some milder brain injury issues of her own. She had worked molding wheelchairs to kids, so she helped me out a lot. My choices since then haven't have been so good, though women certainly continued to find me attractive. I've been single now for 3 years, applying a strictly friendship first policy , for the first time in my life. Seems healthy.

I'm wonder if anyone here is interested in Occupy Everywhere, aka Occupy Wall St., aka the 99%? I correspond online with a woman who wants to create chemical-free, safe, charging sites for disabled folks and their PCAs, caregivers, and service animals at the occupy sites. If folks don't want to discuss that here, I'm fine with chatting just about other stuff.

So thanks.

P.S. I also have a moderate TBI, (Traumatic Brain Injury).

Hey everyone. I just found this section of the forum so I thought I'd past here. So I'll start off with my situation. I have chronic back pain that i have had since i was 16 years old when i had a spinal fusion to correct scoliosis. The scoliosis was caused by a chiari 1 malformation that was removed when i was 5 and caused a major curve in my spine. The surgery was done in fear that the curve would progress and curve into my lungs. I am in pain all of the time and the pain is intensified by sitting or standing for any periods of time. I have seen several doctors and none of them have found a solution to reduce the pain significantly enough for me to support myself. Doctors have tried physical therapy, injections, muscle relax it's, neuropathic pain medications, anti inflamatorys. I currently take tramadol for the pain that only really helps enough so that I can bathe myself. Now my doctors only suggestion left is that I go to this Spaulding rehab program. It's an all day physical therapy program and the doctor that mentioned it even said that if I've done it before and it didn't work then it won't work now either. Not only did it not work last time. But it hurt me so much that I would rather be dead then in that amount of pain. So other then that there's really nothing. I had an appointment to a back pain specialist but just days before the appointment my doctor refused the insurance referral. Her thoughts is that "I'm looking for a solution that isn't there" I'm just looking for a way to get out of bed. Anyways it's very frustrating and I just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts or advise.
