My doctors/family seemed to have abandoned me
Hey everyone. I just found this section of the forum so I thought I'd past here. So I'll start off with my situation. I have chronic back pain that i have had since i was 16 years old when i had a spinal fusion to correct scoliosis. The scoliosis was caused by a chiari 1 malformation that was removed when i was 5 and caused a major curve in my spine. The surgery was done in fear that the curve would progress and curve into my lungs. I am in pain all of the time and the pain is intensified by sitting or standing for any periods of time. I have seen several doctors and none of them have found a solution to reduce the pain significantly enough for me to support myself. Doctors have tried physical therapy, injections, muscle relax it's, neuropathic pain medications, anti inflamatorys. I currently take tramadol for the pain that only really helps enough so that I can bathe myself. Now my doctors only suggestion left is that I go to this Spaulding rehab program. It's an all day physical therapy program and the doctor that mentioned it even said that if I've done it before and it didn't work then it won't work now either. Not only did it not work last time. But it hurt me so much that I would rather be dead then in that amount of pain. So other then that there's really nothing. I had an appointment to a back pain specialist but just days before the appointment my doctor refused the insurance referral. Her thoughts is that "I'm looking for a solution that isn't there" I'm just looking for a way to get out of bed. Anyways it's very frustrating and I just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts or advise.
