I am 47 years old and disabled from a brown recluse spider bite. I have developed several other problems since then including a hernia on my right side that now has my intestines in it with a tumor behind it. OF course it is inopertable due to other problems. I am not here for sympathy I am just lonely and I know there are other people in worse shape and I would like to hear from you and have your comments. There are several things I enjoy even though my health is not good. I don't leave home much but I am always hunting new ways to make friends. I figured blogging may be a new way. When I was bitten by the spider 11 years ago I never dreamed it would lead to this. I don't set around feeling sorry for myself I try to stay busy either reading, crocheting, writing or anything else I can find to do to. I also have MRSA and have had it now for almost two years. SO needless to say I have alot of medical people who are part of my life but not alot of others. People seem to drift away when you stay sick for alongtime and I don't get that. I am terminal not dead yet. I still have the same feelings I did before any of this. I know there are others out there that is bound to be in the same boat as me. Feel free to comment.

Most people think that to be disabled you have to be blind or have lost the use of a limb. Does anyone realize that severe migraine sufferers are disabled? I have suffered from migraine headaches for 53 years. Vomiing, excruciating pain, vision problems, confusion, dizzieness, walking into walls, unable to concentrate, pain lasting weeks or months and many more symptoms to many to list here. people look at me and say,"I can't see anything wrong with you" then they think, "this guy is faking this pain" and they treat you accordingly. In Oklahoma, the government says that Migraine headaches are just a minor inconvenience. I have applied for SSD and have been turned down twice. Why is it that in some states people that suffer from migraines get disability and in Oklahoma you get turned down? Why is it that migraine sufferers are not considered disabled? Why is it that Migraine headache is not listed as a disability? I challenge anyone that thinks severe migraine headache isn't a disabling problem to go to migrainepage.com and read what other migraine sufferers have to go through and put up with. It is migraine hell. Please help to change the law. Migraine should be a recognized disability just as blindness, deafness, or loss of the use of a limb. Severe migraine is a debilitating problem.
Oh my childhood dream was so sweet , here I was in long leg braces and crutches just to be able to stand from polio, but I had a passion and a dream of ice skating ! all wanted for Christmas that year was ice skates , now I was not aware that my parent's spoke with my doctor about this , come on there was no way I was going to skate and they were worried about giving me false hope , well my doctor said go right ahead get them , well I woke Xmas morning and there they were . Bright white double blade. every Sunday my parents would let me take off my braces and on went the skates , you know as I watched it on television I seen myself out there , darn I was not too bad but never won a gold metal lol lol believe it or not just sitting with the skates on did help my dream come true ...The mind is a powerful thing and until today i still love ice skating !
