So I'm five months away from my medical hearing, I have a attorney that says my case is solid, I've had a lot of resistance from the Veterans Administration who has already rated me at 100% but they won't complete the necessary documents for Social Security Disability claim. But I'm not deterred I have been fighting for many years to get what is mine to have, I will not be defeated.

I just wanted anyone reading the hyperbole I will write here comes from someone that is similar too almost anyone else here. Certainly there are going to be many out there that are much worse off than me, I'm very sorry for anyone who suffers through chronic illness, and I respect the different opinions that will arise, and even if you don't believe in a higher power, I will pray for you. I will harness the positive energy that surrounds me daily and will it your way. Believe in your potential to survive, and to function, do not let fear or pain deliver you into isolation and despair. Find the place that you can go in you head to free your spirit, feel energized, and strong. Pain will not define me, I am more than a disabled father of three and husband for 21 years. More later and I wont go on and on about this to often, I like talking about lots of things so until next time I'm out

This made me stop and give thanks.....for oh so many reasons. Mostly for this woman's realization of her own gifts. I saw her story on TV! She had a dream and has seen it come true! God bless her!

Hello,
I am a family studies major and i am permanently disabled. I do not date. I did notice however that there are a number of dating sites available through this page and Marin School. I am writing a paper about people who are disabled (mild-severe) and who have interests in dating and marriage and plan to have families together. would anyone care to respond? I would love to hear positive or negative responses or nuetral responses as well. Personal experience is also great. thank you.
you can also send them to me at dochoa@ksu.edu

Hi DO community-
I'm making my rounds here and introducing myself. For those that frequent blogs and not forums (because I know of a few friends that do just that!), I'm Kara-30 years old-and I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). It causes my bones to break easily and I'm a little person. I also use a wheelchair for mobility.
My husband also has OI. We got married in 2009 and we had a little girl just two months ago. We're still head over heels in love with her but I've been able to tear myself away from admiring her cuteness a few minutes out of the day to return to another one of my loves...writing and blogging.
I eventually hope to return to my busy writing hay days but for now-I'm catching up on life as a mom with a disability at my personal blog: WheelerMom. I hope you'll check it out if you have a moment!
Have a great daySmile
~Kara
